Antimicrobial resistance (AMR): an important one health issue for layer and meat poultry industries worldwide

Routine antibiotic administration in intensive animal industries benefits health and production. However, efforts are being made to limit antibiotic use to clinically affected animals and explore alternative solutions. Mycoplasma vaccines are being used to decrease antibiotic dependence in lay poultry, despite the practicality of mycoplasma freedom.
